2007 NBA Draft Redux

The 2007 NBA draft was billed as a very deep one that was loaded with talent at the top. And after two years, that description remains true. While there doesn’t appear to be more than one superstar from this class, it’s deep enough that it was fairly difficult determining which players would make the lottery if league executives did it all over again.

2008 NBA Draft Redux

Conventional wisdom says it takes at least three years to properly judge a player in the NBA. Though that may be true, we tossed that idea out the window for a minute as we went back to look at how the lottery portion of the 2008 NBA Draft should have gone.

NBA Free Agency Diary — 2009 Edition

With so few teams looking at significant cap space and most of the big name free agents becoming available next summer, most thought this would be a rather uneventful summer around the league. But since the NBA’s free agency period started on July 1, there’s been a flurry of activity and several teams have made some momentous moves with an eye towards the immediate future.

As we’ve done in year’s past, we’re here to size up some of the moves and how some of them have changed the landscape around the league.

NBA Free Agency: Boozer’s decision time

When Carlos Boozer said he was planning on opting out of his current contract in December, few people thought it was a good idea for him to go public with his decision so prematurely. And now that we’re on the eve of the NBA’s free agent period, and few teams appear to be interested in offering a long-term contract, he may have to swallow some pride and wait until next summer to test the free agent market.

Get ready for 2010

Now that the 2009 NBA draft is in the books, perhaps it’s time to turn some attention toward’s next year’s class. Looking at which players decided to return to school and which freshmen are coming in, it’s much easier to appreciate the wealth of talent that should be available at to the league’s cellar dwellers at this time next year. So as we always do this time of year — and to build some buzz towards next year — we’ll give your a list of players to keep an eye on. From the look of things early on, the 2010 class has the potential to be the deepest we’ve seen in quite some time.
